Doing Prettty Good!

Today I am doing pretty good. I woke up at 7am this morning and I couldn't get back to sleep. I ended up taking a nap at 11am. I slept for almost 2hrs. It felt good to sleep. Today it rained a lot.

Doctors visit went Well

I am doing good today. I had a doctor's appointment and everything is fine. I have to go back in 4 weeks. I am in a little pain, but not doing too badly.

Merry Christmas

Hi Everyone,
I've had a nice Christmas even though I did not do much. I went to my friend's church for a sing-along; that was sort of fun; not long enough though. Then my parents, friend, and I went out to lunch, and then we went to visit my grandma in the hospital. After that, we came home and my friend and I hung out and that was about it. Now, I am going to bed. My favorite part of the sing a long was that we sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus.

Doing good

I am doing okay today. I've been a little sore and I woke up not feeling good, but I was able to make it to church although I was 37 minutes late. I had thought church started at 10:30am and I guess it was an error and it had actually started at 10am, so it was nothing we could help, since we go the time mixed up. I wish there had been three services this morning, instead of two like there used to be.
I took a nap this afternoon for a couple of hrs. That did me good, but even though I took a nap; I think I am still going to go to bed early tonight. I am tired and there's not much to do. I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas and a week from today is January 1, 2007. Amazing!

Tired, sore, but doing okay

Hi Everyone,
Right now, I am tired and sore but I am doing okay. I think I am gonna go play some pogo games. Maybe it will help get my mind off the pain that I am feeling right now. I can't believe Christmas is day after tomorrow.

Doing good

Hi Everyone,
I went to be bed pretty late last night, but I slept well. I woke up late though. I finished "Christmas Mommy," by Terry Fowler and it was really really good.
I don't know what I am going to do today, but I hope to get lots of reading in this weekend.

Feeling Better

Hi All,
I'm feeling better today. I am still up and it's after midnight, but I'll be heading to bed soon. I'm still in some minor pain, but I am feeling better and that's what counts. I was able to read some today, but not nearly as much as I would like to read! I'm reading "Christmas Mommy," by Terry Fowler. I am half way through the book.

Feeling very sore

Hi Everyone,
Today has been both a good day and a bad day. I was not feeling good when I woke up this morning, but I was able to get a nap in and also get some reading in. I'm very sore right now and would just like to lie down and sleep until tomorrow, but with it being only 5:41pm; that would be impossible to sleep until tomorrow. I do think I might go to bed at 11pm at the latest and hopefully sleep through the night because I want to also stay up and finish a book that I am reading that is really good!

Doing Better

Hi Everyone,
I am doing a little better today. I have noticed that my appettite is kind of weird, but I think it has always been weird. I got a little reading done today, but not as much as I would have liked. I hope to get back into reading soon. Pain has decreased quite a bit; still not having many headaches and I've had no migraines!

Hi Everyone,
Today I was not feeling too well when I woke up. I got sick again and had some other problems. My friend and I were suppose to go out to lunch with my parents and my grandfather for my mom's b-day, but neither of us were feeling that great, so my mom said we could go another time. My mom's boss said he was taking her to lunch at the last minute, but she told him to join her and my dad and grandfather because they had already planned, so they had a very nice lunch together.
I am still not feeling my greatest, but the pain is at a minimum. I didn't get any reading done today like I wanted to, but maybe tomorrow will be a better day. My back is starting to hurt and I am going to go to bed pretty soon. First I am going to read some Bible; probably one or two chapters in Matthew; I've read through the whole Bible this year and decided to read Matthew, so I have read through chapter 10. After I do some reading, I might read in a book, but only if I can get comfortable to read. It seems I can't get comfortable enough sitting up to read; that I have to lie down to read and that is also not very comfortable, so I end up go to sleep instead.
I have a doctor's appointment Tuesday, so hopefully by Christmas Eve I will feel a lot better and be able to go to church as well as even more better on Christmas day. Anyhow, so far, so good. I didn't take a nap today except when I sort of fell asleep watching a movie, so that was a very short nap; probably 20 minutes. It's good that I didn't take one of my really long naps because now I can probably go to bed at a decent time.

Update

Hi Everyone,
Today was a good day for the most part, but this evening when I took a shower; I got sick and I am not sure why. I knew it was not the flu; it just happened, and then I felt fine except that I was hungry cause it was after I ate. I got to see my grandma for a little bit at the hospital; she's very depressed and I worry for her.
I started feeling sick after we left the hospital last night, so I had my dad get me a sprite and it helped a lot. I think I went to bed before midnight, but I think I woke up a few times during the night.

Pain, Sleep, and how I am doing

Hi Everyone,
Well, right now I am in some minor pain. This afternoon I slept from like 2pm to 5:30pm, I think or maybe it was more like 2:30pm to 5:30pm; I am not sure. Today I was in pain, but Saturday was still the worse of it all. Tonight I went to WalMart, I may have over done it, but I'll be going to bed soon. My dad took me to get something for my mom for her b-day, however, they did not have what we wanted. We also decided to get a heated blanket, but they had every size except twin, so that was not a possibility. However, the Lord led us to a Mattress pad, and I think they had one twin size and that was it, so I should be somewhat warm today.

Update

I didn't get to sleep until after 4:30am this morning and I only managed to sleep a few hrs. I'ts only 8:30pm and I am preparing to go to bed now. I Hope I can sleep tonight. I am warming up a blanket first. I am hoping I'll get an electric blanket soon.

I was still in a lot of pain today, but last night was an absolute nightmare. I'm taking my vikadini early tonight and hope it will help me sleep. I got in very little sleep for my nap because my friend woke me up and placed her freezing cold hands on my face and would NOT leave me alone.

Can't Sleep

Hi Everyone,
Well it's 20minutes to 2am and I am still up. I am in quite a bit of pain and I can't sleep. I hurt so much that it is making me cry which just makes the pain worse. I can't get comfortable in my own bed and I can't seem to get warm either. I took Tylenol and I am sure it will work soon, but hasn't worked as of now. I took it about 1:12am, and I know these things take time. So I guess I am going to try and go back to bed and if I fall asleep that will be good and I will write more once I get up, but if I can't sleep; I'll probably be adding another blog before I get to bed and actually sleep. If by 4:30am I have still not fallen asleep; I will take the stronger pill though I really don't want to because it either means I have to wake someone up to pour me some milk or I have to try and pour it myself and I am not sure if I should be lifting a gallon of milk. Right now I feel sick to my stomach, so I hope that I don't get sick. My shoulders are also very sore, so it's not just where the incision is that it hurts. Well, I guess this is good night and I will try to get some sleep and I hope that I will succeed.

Update on Surgery

Hi Everyone,
Well, I have been up since about 8am. I'm in a lot of pain but the medicine is helping A LOT. The only problem is that it makes me tired and I don't want to sleep anymore. I got about 8hrs of sleep although I tossed and turned and made noises in my sleep; at least, I think I did. Now that it's 9:30, I am hungry, so I had better find something to eat. Moree on how I am doing in a few hrs. I still have pain, but it is not nearly as bad but when I have th spasms, it hurts more and I think those are starting to lessen too.

Surgery Update

Hi Everyone,
Today I was feeling 80% better because I was still in a lot of pain, but it was not as bad. I got up more and could not stay still. I was ready to go home depsite the pain I was in. I still have the spasms, and it makes me hurt. It hurts when I cough and yawn too. My doctor came to visit and told me that he would release me after dinner but I was like "Oh, I was hoping to go home sooner," so he said, "Okay, how about after lunch, how does that sound?" I said, "That sounds much better. I had one more medicine that had to go through the iv, and then after that went through it was taken out. A shower was set up for me, but I think they wasted a lot of water because I was not ready for like 20 minutes because I had a visitor. When I went to take my shower; I had everything except soap and shampoo, so I had to ring the bell so they could bring me that. It felt sooooooo good to be able to get cleaned up and refreshed and I was ready to go home. I really liked all of the nurses that I had. They were terrific and I was relieved to go home finally.
I was in a lot of pain after I came home, but I managed to watch an hr of tv, and then fell asleep because the medicine made me tired. I went to bed again last night at about 11:45 or so, but definitely before midnight.

Update on Recovery

Hi Everyone,
Today was much better, but I continued to be in a lot of pain; I was able to get up on my own. I was able to take a shower which felt good, but it was very hard because the lady who takes my vitals made me sit on the bench and kept telling me to sit down. She spoke Spanish, and I speak English and we had a language barrier, but she was very very nice.
I got in and out of bed quite a bit, and it caused me pain, but it was not quite as bad as yesterday. I ate very well today, and was glad to have something to eat. Yesterday I was on a clear diet, so I mostly had jello. I did not want broth, tea, or coffee.
I ate jello for breakfast today, but had chicken and something else for lunch. I can't even remember what I had. I think had a cup of fresh fruit, but it didn't taste that great. I would have liked it if it were all grapes or grapes and Cantaloupe but not the honeydew because I did not care for that, and pineapple would have been okay too.

Update on Surgery

Hi All,
Today I was allowed to get out of bed some, but it hurt sooooooo much. I needed so much help and it didn't seem as though they wanted to help me but then some of them did. It hurt every time I got out of bed or even moved and had a lot of pain medicine. My doctor came to see me and said the first day after surgery is always when the paitent is in the most pain. All I wanted to do was sleep. The worse part was the spasms (jerkiness I had in my stomach) because it was what made me hurt the most. I had to have shots to prevent blood clots because I had had blood clot in 2003 of January. It was the worse day though after my surgery.

Tuesday Surgery

Hi Everyone,
I'm writing this 12/16/2006 but I have it dated 12/12/2006 because my entry is for that day. I had surgery and it went very well. Prior to surgery I got their at 5:30am but had surgery at 10am. I found out they had to do some things that would make it take longer to prep me. I had to have shots to make sure that I had no blood clots occurring. When the nurse gave me a shot prior to the surgery; she told me that I had jerked and told me not to move. Thankfully, she was very kind about it when she told me because I was unaware that I had even moved. It appeared that I was having some sort of jerkiness and we don't know why; the nurses called them spasms and it happened frequently, so every time I had a shot, I had to tell the nurse that my body jerks, so to hold off a few seconds. I wanted her to know exactly what I meant. Sometimes they gave me the shot in my leg because my stomach was too busy jerking and it did not affect the legs or arms.
So anyway, I was in a lot of pain after my surgery but that is to be expected and I was given A LOT of pain medicine and it made me sleep A LOT!

Great Day

I'm having a great today. I went out to lunch with my friend, and then we went to Christian Lighthouse, and to my Post Office, but my friend waited for me at Jack in the Box. We then went out seperate ways, and it was just a good day. While I was out to lunch with my friend; my aunt called, and I am not babysitting my cousin. I've been babysitting 3x this week! I enjoy it. I'm also doing some tutoring, so it is gonna be a nice Christmas for me because I will be able to get each of my parents something small, as well as, my sister. My mom will probably get a candle or something; my dad will probably get a gift card for McDonalds because he is very hard to shop for, and my sister will probably get $5.00 from me or a gift card for somewhere. Then I have 3 friends that I am going to get gifts for; they are Rachel, Debbi, and Caitie. I already bought myself something; he he, buying myself a Christmas gift before Christmas and before I get anybody else one. It's harding trying to get something for everyone you like to buy gifts for. Well, actually, I kind of already have Caitie's and Debbi's gifts, and Caitie got hers already. I am also going to buy something for my honorary nephew Bailey; I will probably get him a bath toy. I may get the same thing for my real nephew Levi who is 3yrs old, and I'll find something for Emily and my almost 3 month old Nephew Zeke (short for Ezekiel).
