Third meeting with Karyn

Today Karyn and I had our third meeting. We went to Starbucks for breakfast/lunch and also chia tea. It was really good. We went to the park and sat and talked for quite sometime. We also read Romans 8:16-30. We talked about what stuck out (I might add a Scripture journal).
Afterward we prayed for each other. Now that our meeting is over I have to wait a month for our next meeting (found out later that we break for Christmas). I look forward to all my meetings with all my mentors. I felt really encouraged to read my Bible!!

Breakfast/Lunch or call it Brunch

Karyn and I went to Corner Bakery for lunch! It was very good. I'd definitely like to go here again! I knocked my drink over and it spilled all over me; not a pretty site. LOL. I quoted Proverbs 3:1-12 and I did pretty good. I've been having my dad, Caitie, and Rachel test me.
My Bible reading is going so so, but of course, I can always do better. I still feel ashamed if I miss one day of devotions here and there. Does studying a Bible verse or several Bible verses count as a part of my devotions? I don't know. I also try to do my Bible Study for Kardia, but sometimes I struggle with it.

My First mentoring get together

Well, today was m first meeting with my mentor Karyn plus we went over some information about the mentoring program. God has blessed me, and if I had not joined, I'd be missing out on a gigantic blessing!! Wow!
So Karyn and I decided to memorize Proverbs 3:1-8 by our next meeting. I was really nervous about my first meeting because I had no idea what to expect. I missed the meeting where we found out who we were matched up with, and more information about the purpose of this program and what it means.
I just have so much I want to improve in my spiritual life that I know God's will has been shown to me in joining this program. I am blessed beyond any expectations!

Thank you Heavenly Father for your awesome blessing and all those to come! Amen!

My Mentoring Journal

I wanted this to show up as my first post, even though I decided to this on 5/7/09 that I want to keep a private journal for my mentoring thoughts for only me and my mentors to view. I am going back and adding my journal entries from my first meeting, so this needs to show up as the first entry. I wonder if I can make it go to the top and stay there? They can also add to it as well and write about our visits. This is separate from my daily journal because I will probably only post once a week; sometimes twice a week depending on when I get together. With my personal journal, I am the only author.

Mistaken Identity

One of the books I have read most recently and read in 4 days was called "Mistaken Idenity" and this was a true story. It was really good. It was a touching story, so many difficulties that these families went through but so much love and faith in God. Truly Amazing, so find a copy of the book at the library and check it out or borrow it from a friend or buy the book because this is a book that every MUST read. At least I thinks so anyway.

It's Been Awhile!

It's been quite a while since I posted a blog. I keep meaning to do it more, but just haven't done it. So, I thought I would write a little today.

I had lunch with a friend today. We went to El Pollo Loco and she bought lunch. We don't get to meet very often. It's nice to see her. We've been great friends for since Aug 95.

Monday my other friend met me at McDonalds. We read our Bible together. I really want to spend time alone with God, but I did that yesterday instead. My friend and I read Psalms 49-55. I missed reading Bible with her that I think she assumed I wanted to do it again. It's not that I didn't want; it was more the fact that there isn't really a good place to do it and I had already had plans.
